The .NET framework 2.0 has to be installed manually before installation of Remote Device Manager on Windows 2003 R2 64 bit. It can be downloaded from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=5B2C0358-915B-4EB5-9B1D-10E506DA9D0F - Your screen may flicker when you start the application or other applications using WPF technology in a Windows Server 2003 terminal server session. To fix this problem please use the following link from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/955692/en-us - Please make sure to always use DirectX9c and the latest Video card drivers on your computer - It is not supported to use more than one Digital Pocket Memo on the client PC at the time - The FootControl with LFH number for 2320 is recognized as LFH 2310 - The "Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Saving Time" checkbox in the Windows Time Zone Settings dialog should be the same on server computer and client computers. - On Windows7 .Net 3.5.1 feature should not be turned off - Windows Server 2008 R2 the .NET Framework 3.5.1 feature should be installed - The installation of Windows Imaging Component may fail in the Management Console setup. In that case just continue installation, it has no influence on the behavior of the application. Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Express Edition Installation ========================================================= - On 64 bit operating systems the 64 bit version of SQL server has to be installed - On 32 bit operating systems the 32 bit version of SQL server has to be installed - It is recommended to use "Install with customizable settings". "Install with default settings" is UNSAFE! It uses the following parameters: /INSTANCENAME=PRDM /FEATURES=SQLEngine,Tools /SECURITYMODE=SQL /SAPWD=PRDMSQL#1 /ADDCURRENTUSERASSQLADMIN /SQLSVCACCOUNT="NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM The hardcoded SA password is PRDMSQL#1. Use this default SQL Server 2008 R2 Express Edition Installation only if the SQL server and the Remote Device Manager Server are on the same computer In the Database Settings window the Server name should be ".\PRDM" (without the ") Please specify a custom name for the database in the Database name field. Windows integrated security should be switched off. User name should be "sa" (without the "). Password should be "PRDMSQL#1" (without the ").
